Do I Need To Winterize My Pool?

Pool winterization is necessary to prevent damage to the pool and its equipment during the winter months, & here are a few reasons why:

  1. Freezing temperatures: Water that remains in the pool can freeze and expand, causing damage to the pool's walls, floor, and equipment. This can lead to cracks, leaks, and other structural damage that can be costly to repair.

  2. Algae and bacteria growth: Without proper winterization, algae and bacteria can grow in the pool, causing discoloration and a foul odor.

  3. Corrosion and rust: If water is left in the pool's plumbing system and equipment, it can cause corrosion and rust, leading to damage and the need for costly repairs.

  4. Debris and leaves: If a pool is not covered during the winter, debris and leaves can accumulate in the pool, causing discoloration and staining, and making it harder to clean the pool when it is opened in the spring.

  5. Energy efficiency: Winterizing the pool's equipment and systems can help prevent energy loss and save money on heating costs during the winter.

By properly winterizing a pool, it can protect the pool and its equipment from damage, prolong the life of the pool, and make the process of opening the pool in the spring much easier. At OASIS we do not currently offer any routine maintenance services but we do have great recommendations for you!
