What Are The Different Types of Swimming Pools?

There are several different types of pools, but they all have unique features and are all built differently. Listed below are a few of the different types of pools:

  1. Concrete/Gunite Pools: This type of pool is built by excavating a hole in the ground, then building the pool walls and floor using a mixture of concrete and a material called gunite. This type of pool is highly customizable, durable and long-lasting, but also relatively more expensive.

  2. Fiberglass Pools: This type of pool is built using a pre-molded fiberglass shell that is placed in the ground and then filled with water. Fiberglass pools are relatively quick to install and relatively less expensive than concrete pools. They also come in a variety of shapes and sizes.

  3. Vinyl Liner Pools: This type of pool is built by excavating a hole in the ground, and then building the pool walls using various materials such as concrete, block or steel. The pool is then lined with a vinyl liner. Vinyl liner pools are relatively less expensive and can be installed relatively quickly.

  4. Above Ground Pools: This type of pool is built above the ground level and can be made of various materials like metal, resin or wood. They are relatively less expensive, easy to set up, and can be removed when not in use.

  5. Infinity Pools: This type of pool has one or more walls that are made of transparent or translucent material, giving the appearance that the pool water extends to the horizon. They are relatively more expensive than other types of pools and are built on the edge of a property, such as on a hilltop or waterfront.

  6. Lazy River Pools: This type of pool is built in the shape of a river and has a circulating water current. They are relatively more expensive than other types of pools and are designed for relaxation and enjoyment.
